A Whole New Meaning for Teamwork Continued...

Caring for Cocoa is a responsibility of every team member on shift at the hotel. There are even job interview questions for potential new employees related to caring for a dog. The hotel Manager and staff members eagerly participated in interviews with me about this model of team work. I quickly discovered their commitment to this four legged team member and heard a multitude of comments about how Cocoa adds value to the team, and of course to customer service. What stood out for me the most was the level of nurturing that occurs in this team, the desire to work with Cocoa so he's successful in his role, the willingness to actively participate in Cocoa’s daily routines, the importance of humour in the workplace, and sharing this with customers and clients.
Cocoa even has his own email and twitter account with close to 900 followers.  Visit http://twitter.com/TheHotelDog or email him at cocoa@chocolatelakehotel.com

Since writing the story about our dog, Toby, in Chicken Soup for the Soul, "What I Learned from the Dog", it has inspired me to continue writing about him. The book I am currently writing called “On Toby’s Terms: A Story of Life, Love and Purpose”, a 2010 release, will focus on the lessons we have learned about life and business from Toby. If you would like to learn more about Toby, visit www.tobytales.com. You can also visit his blog at http://tobytalesblog.blogspot.com. You can even add Toby as a friend on Facebook - click here to add Toby to your facebook account.

We now have weekly PAWsitive Inspirations based on lessons from Toby. You can sign up to receive your PAWsitive Inspirations at www.tobytales.com
